  FAQs

Q. How will people know our business is now on the Web?
A. After building your custom website or a site from our pre-designed samples we will register your site with the top 10 search engines and directories as well as regional search engines and databases. We'll post a description about your site and your business while positioning keywords within your pages that search engines will look for. When your potential customers go the Web and perform a search for your business (or a type of business like yours) your website address will be displayed. By following this address link they will be able to visit your site. Be sure to add your website's address (called a url) to all of your business' print advertising, brochures, business cards, etc. Give it out just as you would a phone number.

Q. Do I have to own a computer to advertise my business on the Web?
A. No, you don't need a computer for your business to have a website. All you need is a domain name and a place (called a hosting server) where your website pages are kept. Both of these things we take care of for you. Potential clients will go to the Web to learn about your business — to find out what your hours are, where you are located exactly and how to get there, or if you're having any sales — you want to be sure they find you there. You can't afford not to have a website today — you can be sure your competitors do.

Q. Why shouldn't I just make my own website for my business?
A. If you want a professional looking site, you go to a professional. Consider there is more to putting together a successful website that functions correctly than putting a page up with your name on it. We'll market your business across the Internet using the 10 most popular search engines and directories, regional databases, and newsgroup announcements, to name just a few. We'll upload your web pages to the server for the public to access your site or can limit access for a members-only site. Tackling your own website build can be tempting and we encourage you to give it a try. But if you're not happy with the results or you can't find your own website on the Internet, don't get any traffic or don't know how much traffic you're getting, then give us a call and we'll work with you to revise or rebuild your site in a way that will generate results.

Q. Is the Internet and the Web the same thing?
A. No. The Internet is a large infrastructure that contains the Web (short for World Wide Web). The Web is a subnetwork of the Internet and requires a web browser to use it. When you are reading email through email software you are on a different subnetwork of the Internet called the SMTP/POP and when you download freeware or shareware software you are on the FTP subnetwork. Downloading music and movies has you on the P2P subnetwork. The list goes on and there are other subnetworks and a wealth more to follow in the future but these are the most common subnetworks.

Q. Must I be computer literate to be on the Internet and advertise on the Web? I don't want to deal with it but I want the most for my business and want it to be successful.
A. You don't have to know anything about computers or the Internet to advertise your business on the Web. We will build and market your site for you using our knowledge of the Internet, marketing skills, and graphic design experience. We'll work with you and keep you involved as much as you want to be in the process. That's all there is to it!

Q. Must I keep my webpages on my current ISP's web server? They don't give me nearly enough space and don't offer any support!
A. You can keep your website pages on any hosting server anywhere in the world. We will make recommendations based on price, services available and level of support needed to keep your site up and running 24/7 at a price your business can afford.

Q. Does having an e-mail account automatically give me Web privileges?
A. Not necessarily. It depends on who your email account is with. If it's with Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail then it just gets you an free email account. If it's through your local internet access provider (Verizon, Adelphia, AOL, etc.) you might have web hosting privileges but not all providers offer web hosting. Many will give you an allotment of space on their web server if you have a personal account with the ISP but you cannot host your business website pages there.
